A Nail-Biting Heist for the Node of Power and a Glimpse into Ethic's Mysterious Past

What Secrets Could a Node of Power Reveal to Revolutionaries?

Ethic, Hedge, and Adila were a trio of revolutionaries. Their latest mission? Stealing the elusive Node of Power. This artifact was crucial as it controlled a heavily armored train that crisscrossed the country, delivering vital supplies to various settlements.

The train had a unique and highly guarded unloading method. It’s a bit tricky to explain, but imagine a screen inside the engine car showing the train’s position. If the train goes forward, it moves one car length ahead. If it goes backward, it does the same but in the reverse direction. This back-and-forth movement was common during unloading, making it hard to track.

Inside the engine car was a special button that, when pressed, lowered the force field around the artifact for just 10 seconds. The engine car was small, only large enough for Hedge. The plan involved using a crane placed over the tracks to snatch the artifact once the force field was down. The timing had to be perfect, and the only way to get it right was for Hedge to follow the train’s movements from within the engine car. Problem? The car had no windows, leaving Hedge blind to the outside world. Ethic needed to guide Hedge.

Ethic told Hedge the node was in a car 10 positions behind the one under the crane at the start. The strategy was to track the train’s movements like positions on a number line, with each shift forward or backward adjusting the train’s position variable. Once Hedge got the variable to zero, it would be time to hit the button.

As the train started its chaotic dance, moving three cars back, one forward, four back, then lurching ahead by an unknown number of cars, Ethic and Hedge played close attention. In the end, timing was everything. Adila was on the crane, ready to snatch the node as soon as it was in position.

When the moment came, Ethic swooped in and grabbed the Node of Power just as the force field dropped. Hedge kept it safe, and something magical happened. The artifact revealed a vision of Ethic’s past. It showed her as a brilliant mind who once figured out how to operate the artifact and created robots that changed society.

Their next clue pointed to a second artifact deep in the forest to the southeast. With just enough fuel, they hitched a ride on the train to uncover their next adventure.

Epic, right? Ethic, Hedge, and Adila were on a roll, and their mission for the revolution wasn’t over yet. The journey ahead promised more action and undoubtedly more spectacular discoveries.
